Social Media


This internship provides hands on experience within the process of maintaining an innovative presence on ECT social media platforms. Interns will have the opportunity to complete projects in updating and maintaining ECT's social media sites. The interns will be assisting in the area of the theatre responsible for maintaining a steady stream of theatrical communications, engagement and exploration on multiple social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram & Twitter. Candidates should possess a warm personality with strong communication skills as well as basic knowledge of social media and the internet.

Arts Administration


This internship provides hands on experience within the day-to-day management structure of Elysium Conservatory Theatre. Interns work with the Administrative staff and have the opportunity to complete projects in many administrative areas of focus within the theatre. The interns will be part of the team that oversees the day-to-day operation of the theatre including, but not limited to, accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, creating and distributing contracts, overseeing company hours, company calendar maintenance and weekly meeting with the Artistic Director. Candidates should possess a warm personality with strong communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills, as well as a basic knowledge of digital media , Excel and other Microsoft applications.

Technical Directing


This internship provides hands on experience within the process of preparing a set for a production as well as general maintenance of the theatre. Interns work with the technical director and have the opportunity to complete projects in building and mounting of a set. The interns will be assisting the area of the theatre responsible for maintaining the theatre and will be exposed to some but not all of the following; set building, moving lighting equipment, cleaning equipment, storing equipment and creating a stage plot. Candidates should possess a warm personality with strong communication skills as well as basic knowledge of power tools.

Applicants interested in learning about set building and stage maintenance should apply. This position is well-suited for those interested in stagecraft and in understanding the process of keeping the backstage running.


Vocal Coaching


This internship provides hands on experience within the process of ensuring a show evolves vocally. Interns work with the Vocal Coach and have the opportunity to complete projects in the rehearsal and mounting of a performance. The interns will be exposed to some but not all of the following; vocal techniques used in various productions, dialect training and scansion. Candidates should possess a warm personality with strong communication skills as well as a basic knowledge of vocal techniques.

Applicants interested in learning about teaching and applying vocal techniques to theatre should apply. This position is well-suited for those interested in dialects and in understanding the process of teaching vocal techniques.


Stage Management


This internship provides hands on experience within the process of stage managing a production from read through to strike. Interns work with the stage manager of the current production and will have the opportunity to work with cast, crew and artistic team on a production. The interns will be assisting in the area of the theatre responsible for maintaining a cohesive production process and will have the opportunity to assist in some, if not all of the following areas; production meetings, rehearsals, keeping track of costumes, props, set pieces, maintaining a rehearsal schedule and maintaining open communication with the cast. Candidates should possess a warm personality with strong communication skills as well as basic knowledge of stage management.

Lighting Design


This internship provides hands on experience within the process of designing and programming lights for a production. Interns work with the lighting designer of the current production and will have the opportunity to work with cast, crew and artistic team on a production. The interns will be assisting in the area of the theatre responsible for creating a polished and finished production through lighting and will have the opportunity to assist in some, if not all of the following; creating a lighting plot, attending production meetings, hanging and focusing lights and running a light borad. Candidates should possess a warm personality with strong communication skills as well as basic knowledge of lighting design.

Applicants interested in learning about design through lighting and the needs of an electrician should apply. This position is well-suited for those interested in design and electrical work.


Costume Design


This internship provides hands on experience within the process of designing and building costumes for a production. Interns work with the costume designer of the current production and will have the opportunity to work with cast, crew and artistic team on a production. The interns will be assisting in the area of the theatre responsible for creating a polished and finished production through costuming and will have the opportunity to assist in some if not all of the following areas, creating costume renderings, researching costume options, sewing, draping, fitting and scaveging. Candidates should possess a warm personality with strong communication skills as well as basic knowledge of costume design.

Dramaturgy


This internship provides hands on experience within the process of researching and analyzing a script. Interns work with the dramaturg of the current production and will have the opportunity to work with cast, crew and artistic team on a production. The interns will be assisting in the area of the theatre responsible for creating a polished and finished production by using some, if not all, of the following techniques; research the historical significance of a script, analyzing a script and understanding the world of a play. Candidates should possess a warm personality with strong communication skills as well as basic knowledge of script analysis.
