I'll use the analogy of a butterfly.. a caterpillar’s experience is simple, easy even. But not very exciting, as it’s just fulfilling its basic needs. At some point it’s time for the caterpillar to become something more, and it begins the process of metamorphosis. Inside the chrysalis the caterpillar begins a major process of transformation. Imagine that caterpillar's experience during that time. Everything its ever known is being stripped away from it. That must be quite challenging, scary even, and the caterpillar must feel lost and uncertain. Nonetheless, its growing. As a matter of fact, it is essential to its growth. But guess what? When it’s done growing, it gets to emerge a BUTTERFLY! It gets to break free of the discomfort of growth, spread it’s beautiful multicolored wings and FLY. It gets to flutter about living the life it only once dreamed of. Isn't it all (the challenging circumstances it took to get there) worth it then? Now, if the butterfly knew that’s what had to happen in order for it to reach its fullest potential it might have resisted less and embraced more, making for a smoother transition. Moral of the story, trust the fucking process. Be willing to be pushed and asked to work in ways that you haven’t encountered before. If you have an open heart and a willingness to grow both personally and professionally into your greatest version, this will be a life changing experience.
