Rozeta Lami (Conservatory Artist)

Rozeta has always a little girl with big dreams. Being at ECT is something really exciting and unique for her. Originally, from Albania she has a Bachelor Degree in Marketing from the Parma University in Italy. Then, she started her freelance career, basically as a portrait photographer in Milan, Italy.

While searching something to do during an empty period of her life, an email about a theatre school which was doing open days for the new scholastic acting year, caught her attention. Passing that threshold changed her life, completely. All what she has ever neglected to herself came out like a swollen river. She cried so many times because she knew that acting has always been her biggest desire and she finally could, at least live the emotions that a stage can give and live through the eyes of the characters she brings in life. Is such a powerful and universal energy.

Then the audition at ECT a total mess. Never could imagine to be accepted for the Conservatory and be part of the understudy, too.

She believed at her inner voice because that day she had to be in Arizona, but changed the flight and came a day before in order to be there for the audition. Sliding doors. Such a strange and beautiful feeling. And now she is just too happy to live this adventure that will open future doors.

Getting To Know... Rozeta

Tell us about a transformative educational experience.

I have always been a good student and a methodical one until I went to high school and my rebel soul came out.  I felt in love with Jim Morrison and the beautiful times of the sixties  although I was still too young to fully understand what it could really be that era. I studied just because I had too until one day I met a girl who introduced me to the photography and teached me the first tips and tricks about having that object in my hands. It was magic and loved it, immediately. And, it was the first time in my life that I learned really with a great pleasure. Acting has always been my very very very far dream. I never could believe that I was able to act or stay on a stage, although I loved it since I was a child, by watching the greatest of the nineties. I approached late to this dream and I have just started to scratch it.

What about transformative professional experiences?

I have always been struggling to have my own profession and be my own boss. Never liked to have people above me. So, after years of work and research at last I opened my own studio in Milano and I was really really  satisfied about that. Achieving something like this is a big small victory for me because it means that I did something and totally by my own. That studio is my secret place where I make my shootings, my dancing and singing and acting when I am alone. And I used it for rehearsal  for the first independent play made in November 2017 in Milan, Italy.

Why I do what I do...

My aim in my life has always been to be free, in the sense that my first and only life in these shoes, so of my person had to be dedicated to know the world and my self-connection to it. Art and acting gives me the possibility to go where I cannot go anymore and is simply wonderful. Living past present and future through the art is a great reason to do what I do.

What about ECT inspires you?

Elysium makes me breathe the perfume of the real stage. I was fascinated about the place when I first entered there. The wood, the colours, the furniture  were all there to construct a play. It was already something that tells you go and don’t be afraid. I am here to support you. So, the magic of warmth ancient places gathered with the passion of the new actors hunting the right stage and big emotions makes ECT something magic.  Feel my soul filled with joy and hope every time I step out from Elysium.

Where have you traveled? Where would you like to visit?

I love travelling. I can do anything to go around the world and see what nature has gifted us.

I have been lucky enough to have visit almost all Europe like Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Albania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Innsbruck, Marocc, Jordan and now in US only Los Angeles and Arizona some places.

I would love to go to Japan, Peru, Malaysia, Bali, Australia and so many other places.

But for now these ones could be a good starting point.

My favorite "day-off" event would be...

My favourite ‘’ day-off’’ would be hiking.

Love the going up the hills and discover new paths and breathe the smell of the humid leaves.

If I had one million dollars I would...

For sure, arrange some familiar stuff, to be like really objective and then I do not know. Sometime, I think that money should be a vector in order to help other people or make something to increase the awareness of the people about different important questions about our lives society rules behaviour etc.

Did you know...

That, once I launched myself with the parachute . I was really young and I was always searching adrenaline activities. I was not quite if I had to stay all day like sitting in a coach doing nothing. My soul was really restless. And now, for absurd I am really scared from high bridges or high buildings. This is the beauty of our nature, the way we change.
